Your Business Goals for the New Year
Do you have your S.M.A.R.T goals set for this year? What is most important to your business this year?
Are you being S.M.A.R.T this year?
Of course, we do not need to tell you what 'S.M.A.R.T' stands for, but for the sake of the article, let's talk about it.
SMART is a best way to go about setting goals. It is an acronym for:
Is the goal specific enough. Saying 'We want to be more productive this year' is not specific...
Is the goal measurable as you move towards its completion? For example, 'We want to be more productive in [this sector] by [this percentage]'.
Make sure it's actually doable! Even if it makes you stretch, make it achievable.
As we spoke about in our post 'Starting the New Year with a Bang', having a goal that everyone can buy into is a really good idea. So, if you did follow that advice and implement that, it's important that your SMART goals are tied into that overall vision for the year.
Put a deadline on it! Goals without deadlines can just remain good ideas.
What is our point?
The point was to ask you:
What is your company's main S.M.A.R.T goal for the New Year?
Some common New Year goals we see are things like:
- Increase incoming leads by 20% over the space of 6 months.
- Reduce overheads by 10% within 9 months.
- Increase productivity in sales department by 10% within 12 months.
So, do you have your S.M.A.R.T goals set for this year?
